Mayor Santellana and Judge Gossom have announced an updated order for Wichita Falls and Wichita County to allow businesses to reopen. At this time, our lobbies will remain closed and by appointment only. Our drive thrus will remain open for normal business hours during this time. Earlier today, the Small Business Administration announced the Paycheck Protection Program reached its funding limit of $349 billion. This has left banks across the country holding applications from small businessmen and women that can no longer be submitted. First Bank is no exception. As you may have read, Congress and the Treasury Department are in negotiations to extend additional funding. If and when these funds become available, First Bank will recommit our efforts to submit all applications we now hold.

However, we do need your help! Specifically, we are asking you to contact your Member of Congress today and ask them to support additional PPP funding immediately. Thank them for their previous support of the program and let them know why your business needs help now. If you need information on how to contact your Member of Congress, click here. (You will be linking to another website not owned or operated by First Bank and we are not responsible for the content of this website.)

You may also call 202.224.3121 to urge leaders in Congress to approve additional PPP funding immediately. Senate Majority Leader McConnell, Senate Minority Leader Schumer, House Speaker Pelosi, and House Minority Leader McCarthy are in negotiations to provide an additional $250 billion. Ask to be connected to one of the leader’s offices mentioned above. Whether you get a staffer or voice mail, here is all you need to say:

  • I am calling to ask Congress to immediately approve additional funding for the Small Business Administration’s Paycheck Protection Program.
  • Banks like First Bank have been working diligently to assist small businesses.
  • PPP has been a lifeline for small businesses across the country, allowing them to preserve jobs.
  • Do not let this lifeline go away.

You can help spur action by telling these leaders that small businesses need immediate funding to keep their businesses open and keep employees on the payroll. Thank you for your continued patience with us as we work through this process.

First Bank is proud to be an approved lender for the federal government’s Paycheck Protection Program, which helps small businesses impacted by COVID-19. In the spirit of putting our customers first, our lending staff is working diligently to process the large volume of applications received as quickly as possible.
