Community Involvement
Getting into the Christmas Spirit
Our staff had a great time last week getting into the Christmas spirit! Each day had a different theme:
Monday - Holiday Hair - Wear a festive hat or hair accessory
Tuesday - Festive Flannel
Wednesday - Holiday Glow Up - Wear something shiny or sparkly
Thursday - Feeling Frosty - Wear white
Friday - Grinch Day - Wear green
Merry Christmas from our festive bunch to yours!
Bringing the Holiday Spirit to Booker T. Washington Elementary
As a proud Partner in Education, we brought the holiday spirit to Booker T. Washington Elementary students reading Christmas stories, distributing cookies, and gifting each student a sweatshirt.
“We haven’t been able to provide sweatshirts for our kids for a while,” said Denise Dorzab, school counselor at Booker T. Washington. “We’re so excited to see their faces light up. First Bank’s generosity continues to make a huge difference for our students.”
Wichita County Child Welfare Board Gift Drive
Each year, the Wichita County Child Welfare Board hosts a gift drive for children in the foster care system. Staff members from our Wichita Falls and Burkburnett branches have been participating in this program for years and this year was no different. They had so much fun shopping for the kids and hope that this small gesture brings immense joy to these children on Christmas morning.
Decorating for Christmas at Booker T Washington Elementary School
Last week, a few of our Wichita Falls team members stopped by Booker T Washington Elementary School to help spread a little holiday cheer! Each year, the school allows local businesses to help decorate the Christmas trees in the foyer. This is our second year to participate. We hope the lights on the trees add a little more light to the hearts and minds of the teachers and students this holiday season.
Supporting City of Wichita Falls Fire Department's Operation Santa Claus
First Bank was thrilled to present a $1,000 donation to the City of Wichita Falls Fire Department's Operation Santa Claus. Each year, the local fire stations come together to bring awareness to this cause and spend thousands of dollars on bikes and toys for children in need. Last year alone, over 700 bikes were donated to kids in our community. These fire fighters also donate their off-duty time to assure that this operation is successful and the hope of Santa Claus stays alive.
The Salvation Army of North Texas' Angel Tree Program
The staff at First Bank Frisco participated in The Salvation Army of North Texas' Angel Tree Program. This year, there were more than 45,000 Angels to be adopted, which includes local children, seniors, and adults with special needs.
Volunteering at Iowa Park's Whoop T Do on the Square
Our Iowa Park branch had a booth at the annual “Whoop T Do" event on the square, selling potato tornados (potato chips)! Each year, the money raised is donated to a local charity. This year, the proceeds went to the Iowa Park School District to benefit their Christmas gift drive for local kids.
Shelter Dogs Adoptions at Our Aledo Branch
We had some sweet shelter pups at our Aledo branch last week. If you are considering getting a pet, please visit your local shelter.
Thanksgiving Food Drive
In November, all First Bank locations hosted a food drive to support our communities in need. Your donations went directly to incredible local charities making a difference:
Aledo – Center of Hope Parker County
Frisco – Frisco Family Services
Iowa Park – First United Methodist Church of Iowa Park
Burkburnett – Burkburnett Grace Ministries
Wichita Falls – Wichita Falls Area Food Bank
Thanks for making the season brighter for those in need. Thank you for helping us support our communities!
