Community Involvement
Midwestern State University Job Fair
Diana Gwin, Human Resources Director, represented First Bank at the job fair hosted by Midwestern State University. Our primary focus was on recruiting prospective employees, specifically individuals majoring in accountancy and finance. Banking is a wonderful career choice and First Bank would be honored to employ our local graduates.
A Field Trip to the Bank: Coder Elementary
Our Aledo branch recently hosted the Coder Elementary 1st graders for a field trip all about money and banking. This has been a tradition for First Bank and Coder Elementary since the branch was opened. The students were taken on a full tour of the bank, including the safe deposit boxes, teller line, and the infamous vault, then enjoyed a hot dog lunch on the patio. Each first grader left with a coloring book and a piggy bank with fifty cents in it to encourage them to start saving!
Casual for a Cause: Humane Society of Wichita County
Our charity for Casual for a Cause in February was the Humane Society of Wichita County. First Bank employees donated to support their mission of providing food, shelter, medical care and affection to homeless, abused and abandoned animals until they can find their forever homes.
Boots and Bling
Our Aledo branch sponsored and attended the Parker County Health Foundation annual charity gala, Boots and Bling. PCHF is committed to enhancing the health and well-being of qualified Parker County residents who otherwise could not seek costly treatments and/or services. Through fundraising events such as the Annual PCHF Gala, 100% of the funds raised are allocated amongst other Parker County organizations that provide various medical services to Parker County residents.
Casual for a Cause: Total Donations in 2023
First Bank employees raised a whopping $8,397.29 in #CasualForACause donations in 2023! Half was donated by employees and the same total was matched by First Bank.
Sweet treats for the Coder Elementary Incentive Program
First bank sponsored the sweet treats for the Coder Elementary Incentive Program attendance award. Six classes were awarded Ice cream sandwiches for reaching their class attendance goal for this semester.
Gifts for Kids - Partnering with the Child Welfare Board
First Bank employees partnered with the Wichita County Child Welfare Board and provided 126 gifts for 42 kids (we provide 3 gifts per child). The Wichita County Child Welfare Board works to provide gifts for neglected and abused children who are in the legal custody of Child Protective Services. This year, they had more than 300 kids to provide for.
Operation Santa Clause
First Bank donated more than 100 toys to the Wichita Falls Professional Firefighters (please tag) Association’s Operation Santa Clause. They provide toys to community children. Betty Kemp with First Bank is pictured with firefighter Trent Mays and his son Davis.
